Globalstar has announced a launch delay for the upcoming Arianespace/Starsem Soyuz mission, which will deploy six of the company’s second-generation satellites from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
Originally scheduled for mid-May, Flight ST23 was delayed on the recommendation of satellite manufacturer Thales Alenia Space – which determined that additional technical checks of the spacecraft were necessary in order to respect the quality process and secure the mission.
Globalstar does not anticipate a lengthy delay, and is working closely with Thales Alenia Space to provide additional information on the new launch timing as it becomes available.
